About the Workshop
Skill level: Experienced Beginners and Up.
Materials used: All mediums accepted.
When working from your photographs inside the studio, a successful outcome requires understanding Composition, Value and Temperature; the essential triad for the manifestation of a great painting. In this workshop we will be working on these concepts and much, much more learning to take the information from your photographs to create beautiful paintings from them. We start with a morning lecture then we will be using my photographs to learn how to add depth and bring to life the light to create a dynamic, “alive” painting. The last day you may work from your own photos or I can supply you with others.
Everyone should be working from their tablet or ipad, or be able to print out the images prior to class.
All mediums welcome. Regardless of where you are in your artistic journey, an experienced beginner (with at least basic hands-on knowledge of your medium), or an intermediate painter looking for a way to step up the quality of your work, this workshop will be incredibly valuable to your practice.
My experience is in oil, pastel and watercolor but all 2-D mediums are welcome.
Some prior knowledge of your medium is required. Everyone will gain personal power and artistic awareness as you “start where you are.”

About Natasha
Natasha Isenhour, conveys an emotional response to landscape, architecture and still-life, in oil, pastel and watercolor infused with her unique contemporary edge. Isenhour depicts what she sees as unpopulated spaces with an edgy lonesome starkness that defines the very essence of her work. “It’s all about exploration of emotional response… to place the viewer in a feeling of being alone with their reaction to the piece. I’m seeking to move the viewer into a place to breathe and contemplate. Its intent isn’t to convey sadness, rather, it’s about opening to authenticity and the bare essence that is at our core when we remove all the pretense.”
